MFT Birthday Project Challenge "Time to Shine" December 2018 Second Entry

January 10, 2019  Just by chance, I had a second card to enter into MFT's Birthday Project Challenge.  This is a card that I made for my niece who just turned 17.

MFT's  die sets used: Gift Card Window and Frame, Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX, Essential Sentiment Rip Strips and Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips.  I used the Gift Card Pouch from MFT and the Interactive Card Instructions Stamp set by Kat Scrappiness.  All paper used was in my stash but I think the cupcake paper came from Hobby Lobby.  For the Hello Kitty, I had an previously purchased svg and pulled it into my Silhouette Studio program to color and cut it.  I will add links to all items used in this card. #MFTStamps

MFT Birthday Project Challenge December 2018 First Entry

January 01, 2019   This was the first card that I made to enter into My Favorite Things monthly Birthday Project Challenge.  The theme was "Time to Shine".  I knew this was the perfect theme to use on a card for my sister.  She is such a DIVA!!    #MFTStamps

For this card, I used MFT's Die-namics stitched scallop basic edges, stitched oval scallop frame and the stitched square scallop frame.  The background papers were printed on my home computer using Things by Lary (Etsy) Seamless Tinted Damask Papers and illuztrate (Etsy) Seamless Mint and Grey Floral Paper Pack.  The image was purchased from pngtree.com and is titled Fashion Girl.  I created the sentiment using the "leave a little sparkle" - phrase from the Silhouette Studio store.  I manipulated this design to make it fit my needs.  I designed the word "Sparkle" using Chopin script in my Silhouette Studio program and cut it out of gltitter paper purchased from Hobby Lobby.  I have added links to all digital artwork and dies.

Country Girl Birthday

December 11, 2018  This card was made for a country girl from Texas.  When I realized it was her Birthday, I knew this boot image called " Sen department of watercolor flowers bouquet" from pngtree.com was perfect.  The background paper was also a pngtree.com image called "plaid background".  I printed this on my home computer.  I pulled the boot image into my Silhouette Studio program and added a wine glass to it.  The yellow and green papers were cardstock that I had in my stash.  I used MFT's Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edge Dies, Spellbinders Nestabilities Fancy Edged Ovals Etched Dies, and Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 10pk-Mix and Match Flowers in this card. Links for all items to follow😊

December 4, 2018  My husband went to Washington State to visit his parents for a few days.  I missed him and wanted him to know that me and Andy were glad he was home.  So, of course I made him a card.

Images are from pngtree.com.  Floral blue paper was purchased on Etsy.  Plaid paper was in my stash.  I used MFT's Die-namics Homespun Stitch Lines and Spellbinders Nestabilities Fancy Edge Squares Etched Dies.  Links for purchased products to follow.

Miss You Terri

December 3, 2018  My BFF Terri is in DC and is soon to be heading off to Bahrain for a few years.  She is in the middle of packing and is a little stressed.  I wanted to send some happy her way and knew that this card would make her smile.  I used MFT's Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edges Die set and Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 10 pk-Mix and Match Flowers.  The sentiment was cut using my Silhouette Cameo.  The awesome print paper is from Hobby Lobby.  Links for dies to follow.

We Miss You Jim and Heidi

December 1, 2018  This card was made for my mother and father-in-law.  We have a black and white Springer Spaniel that is loved as much as we are (truth be known, probably more).  So, he is front and center on my card.

I used MFT's Die-namics Stitched Scallop Basic Edges to cut the grass.  The flowers, clouds, bee and tag were from the Silhouette Design Stores "Slider Card Butterfly".   They were printed and cut on my Silhouette Cameo.  The dog image was titled "A Greeting Dog" from pngtree.com.  I also cut him with my cameo.  Unfortunately, I can't figure out where the smiley sun came from😕  Links for the items I could remember are below.

Jason's Crown Royal Quilt

2018, August 17
Last summer my baby brother asked me to make him a quilt from his Crown Royal Apple bags.  As usual, I procrastinated.  I decided that a year had passed and it was time to get it done.  Luckily, Jason's 40th Birthday was just around the corner and that gave me a little motivation to get it completed.  Linda Natale of Quilt Lady Creations did an awesome job with the quilting.

Mom's Finished Quilt

June 8, 2017  Hallelujah it is finally done!

February 4, 2014 First block in the works.

January 27, 1017 Completed quilt top

June 8, 2017   My mom’s quilt is finally completed! Me and my mom purchased the first piece of fabric for this quilt in 2011 and have been through many design changes and several different fabric choices since then.  I had a difficult time making decisions with this quilt and found myself frustrated and tossing it aside for 6 months at a time-hence the 6 year turnaround time for completion.  I just wanted it to be perfect for my mom 😊

December 28, 2016   I saw this idea on Pinterest and decided it would be perfect for my kitchen counter.  I found the wood planter box at Hobby Lobby and pulled out the Mason jars I had from Ashley's wedding.  I used chalk paint to paint the jars and added cream hydrangeas from the Fresh Picked line at Hobby Lobby.

Wallin Motor Speedway Quilt

Do you like the fans?  It was the perfect fabric for this project!

January 30, 2016    My latest completed project. No surprise but I started it a couple of years ago.frown emoticonAll I had to do was add the back and bind it and you know how I hate to do binding!! This project started out as individual track pieces that I had hoped could be rearranged according to David's mood at the time.  I couldn't figure out how to join them easily.  So, it turned into a play mat/quilt.  I would not have used felt had I known i was going to make it a quilt :(  In the end it turned out well and will hopefully last through years of play.

It is the Wallin Motor Speedway for my friend Terri's kids. Once I realized her little boy David was into helicopter's I had to add a helipad for injured race car drivers (he he). You know I love helicopters since that is what Jim flies. Such a cool job! I am traveling to Ohio next week and I figured it was the perfect opportunity to finish a project. It is now complete and ready to be packed for the trip (YAY!).

Jacobean Garden Embroidered Quilt

December 20, 2015      I signed up for my first official machine embroidery class when I walked into Sew Little Time quilt store and saw a sample of this quilt hanging on the wall.  I was awed by it!  Two good things came from it: First, I learned a ton about machine embroidery with this project.  Second:  I met one of my best friends, Mable Pigati during this class.  We spent countless hours cursing and drinking during this project.  We have been cursing projects and drinking margaritas ever since :) :)

This was my first continuous/multi hoop machine embroidery quilt. I am again ashamed to say that I picked it up from the quilter on March 14, 2012.  It has taken me 3 years and 9 months to sew the binding on :(   I am always floored at the amount of time that passes between quilter pick-up and binding completion!!  On my behalf, it was a very large quilt (92 x 91) and I planned an entire wedding since I picked up the quilt.  No excuse really, I just hate to hand sew binding!!!

Hershey's Kisses Gift Card Box

December 20, 2015    I was lazy this year and didn't shop for the kids but I didn't just want to just hand them cash.  I found this cute gift card box on Pintrest and decided that I could make it for the kids.  I found the pattern and converted it to work on my Zing cutting machine.  It too a few tries but in the end they were so adorable.  I love them!
