Second Project Fall Place-mats

My first set of place-mats began as a fall quilt. During this project, I learned a valuable lesson! Do not cut and sew out all of your quilt blocks before laying your fabrics out to see if they work together. MY MISTAKE: I finished sewing all of my leaf blocks before deciding to lay them out with the border fabric.  I soon realized that I hated the fabrics together!  MY ADVICE: Sew a sample block first and take it for a test drive before you get in too deep.  Looking back, I should have probably continued with my quilt project and just purchased another border fabric.  However, in the end my project worked itself out and my fall place-mat idea was born.
